Dog Friendly Places to Eat in Monkey Junction

Here are some of the places to eat that I have discovered in the Monkey Junction area which allow dogs. By the way, can anyone tell me why the area between downtown Wilmington and Carolina Beach is called "Monkey Junction"? I don't know if I believe that story about the monkey in the gas station...

1. Osteria Ciccetti - Enjoy your italian-inspired meal on a covered patio that is encompassed by small trees. Much better than a parking lot view!

2. Rucker John's - This restaurant has a semi-covered patio. It provides decent shade, but you don't want to be caught in the rain during a meal under the patio covering--take it from Meg and I.

3. Island's Fresh Mex Grill - This open patio Mexican-style restaurant is a college student haven. The food is served cafeteria-style, though. So you'll need to send in a friend to grab your meal while you and the pooch stay outside.

4. Antonio's Pizza and Pasta - This pizza place is a part of a strip mall near the Way-Mart in Monkey Junction. There are not many tables outside, and the patio is not covered--but the pizza is pretty tasty!
